To truly appreciate an open class sportbike, a rider must possess a heightened sense of passion – passion for mind-boggling power and confidence-inspiring handling. These are the very attributes that describe the Kawasaki NINJA® ZX-12R motorcycle, and only the most serious rider need apply. As Cycle World magazine wrote of the NINJA ZX-12R: "Kawasaki's open-class sportbike combines brute muscle with a responsive, solid-handling chassis. Whether you're staring down a dragstrip or carving along a twisty mountain road, the big Ninja's tractable power and raw acceleration can blur the landscape like few other machines can.”

 2005 NINJA ZZR-1200

The Kawasaki ZZR®1200 motorcycle provides the streetbike enthusiast with a superb balance of big-bore performance matched to the sport-touring comfort necessary for long distance rides. Kawasaki engineers based the ZZR1200’s double-overhead cam 1164cc inline-four engine after the muscular ZRX1200, but modified the ZZR’s 16-valve engine to be a stronger performer in the low- and mid-range sections of the powerband. The ZZR’s aluminum cylinders utilize chrome composite plating rather than cylinder liners to provide a lightweight package and quick heat transfer. The actual pistons feature reinforced ribs similar to those on the NINJA ZX-12R sportbike.

 2005 Z1000
To publicly suggest that one “ride naked” may seem a little risqué at first – until the listener sees the Kawasaki Z1000 motorcycle. With its emphasis on power, backroad agility and obvious lack of sportbike “clothing,” even the most polite riders just have to look. The Z1000 backs this aggressive, super naked style with an in-line-four, DOHC 16-valve engine, which produces tractable power for hard acceleration in any rpm range. The lightweight, all-aluminum cylinder block, with chrome composite plated lining for wear resistance and superior heat dispersion are features borrowed from the Kawasaki NINJA® sportbike line.
